If i could protect anything, I would protect my parents. From the time i was born, they have been working hard and making countless sacrifices for me.They have instilled proper sense of right and wrong in me, and made me into the person I am today. I want to defend my brother and sister! Being young, they cannot defend themselves and need someone else to protect them. I think Singaporeans are really really fortunate as we don't see children armed with weapons and fighting in wars. They should have a carefree childhood and not struggle in order to survive. I want my siblings to be living in a safe environment :)))))

I would like to defend nature in Singapore as Singapore is already a place being termed as a “concrete jungle” with many buildings and little nature. So, we should treasure the nature that is left in Singapore and hence; we would not live to regret about not having cherish the nature that we used to have in Singapore many years down the road.

What i would defend.
The happiness of my family, friends and myself. With happiness comes hope, and i believe that with hope, one can achieve anything. Happiness improves the mental health of everyone and definitely should not be taken for granted, which unfortunately, many people do.
It makes life, unpleasant happenings and difficulties easier to live through, something that many people can not conquer because of the lack of hope, stemming from the lack of happiness. I am sure that with joy in one's life, nothing is very much impossible.
For such an important aspect of our life, shouldn't we defend it duly?

CULTURE + HISTORY:
Singapore is a budding country with our ancestors coming from many different countries and culture, resulting in Singapore being a multi-racial and harmonious country. The picture is just one if the many fine architectures that have still been preserved up till now. Without our roots, we would just be a country standing still with no progress. Without history, we would never learn from our past mistakes and always fall back into the past. Hence, i want to protect Singapore's culture and history so that we will always look back at our past and remember our ancestor's hard work. (:

I will defend our colourful life. The sunglasses are the perfect representation of what we see, on it is the reflection of our colourful life. For which to defend my colourful life and everyone else's is basically because life's precious and i treasure it. I believe everyone around me treasures his/her life as well! I will defend water, our precious resource in Singapore. As we know, every drop of water counts. Thus, it is important for us to keep the wastage to the minimum and make good use of every drop in our everyday lives since it plays an essential role. Life without water is hard to imagine, just like when we failed to defend our country during the World War 2, partly due to the cut-off of our only water supply from Malaysia. Hence, we should actually be clearly aware of our daily wastage of water may cause a shortage. Put that aside, total defence day is a day for us to commemorate! So we shall do that first before saving water instead!

I will defend my house in Flanders' Drive, San Diego.
I spent most of my childhood in that house. I followed my father to USA when he was sent there to work, living in US was a completely different experience, the life there were slow-paced and stress free. I enjoyed playing at the playground and going shopping with my mum at the grocery shops. I am willingly to defend it as i treasure my childhood memories, every mole hole in the house got its own story-
I still hope that one day i can go back and live in the house again.

The thing that I will want to protect most is the peace in Singapore. Not many people in other countries get to enjoy living in harmony with different races, and that is one of the main reasons why riots often occur, which will cause both the citizens and the country’s economy to suffer.
Singapore is the place where I grew up in and I am fond of her. The peace that we Singaporeans have is so unique that many tourists came to visit Singapore just to have a taste of the racial harmony here. By defending the peace we have, not only will we be able to lead a comfortable and safe life, we can also ensure that Singapore’s economy will continue to develop as the tourism industry will continue to generate more money.
